My Approach:

I uphold a person-centered approach in all I do. I prioritize allowing my clients to provide feedback and encourage collaboration throughout their therapeutic journey. Therapeutic interventions I am most versed in include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. Some of my biggest therapeutic passions include helping people navigate grief and other life transitions, helping people build confidence and explore self-identity, and helping them discover new tools for emotional regulation. A tool I am very passionate about sharing with others is mindfulness. Meditation can sometimes be intimidating despite its demonstrated effectiveness in alleviating various distressing mental health symptoms. My goal is to make mindfulness approachable to all, especially those that can really benefit from this practice but need help getting started. While these are my passions and skills, I am open to continue learning and growing based upon my client’s needs and interests.

Background:

While completing my bachelor’s degree at Xavier University, I had access to exploring various service learning opportunities. After graduating with my bachelor’s, I completed a year of service through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. I was placed in Detroit during this program and was integral in helping open a new Catholic Charities location. While this was not a traditional field experience, I learned so much and it continued to ignite my passion for helping others. While completing my graduate degree, I had the privilege of completing a 1.5-year internship in which I provided individual counseling to older adults residing in nursing homes in Greater Cincinnati. This role expanded my knowledge of grief counseling, mood disorders, social policies affecting health care, and the challenges facing elderly clients and their families. I graduated with my master’s in Social Work in 2023 and have been in the private practice world ever since. This has allowed me the chance to connect with many other populations in addition to older adults such as adolescents and adults 18+. In addition to my experience in private practice, I am also an inpatient psychiatrist social worker at UC Health where I specialize in intake assessments, resource coordination, and discharge planning. I also lead therapeutic groups for our patients.
